Action Research and Presentations

Action Research

For the past 4 years I have had the opportunity to reflect on my teaching practice and study a topic of interest during a school wide teacher inquiry time. At the end of the year I then presented my findings to my colleagues. Below are the research projects I have created these past four years.

2015-2016
What happens when kids take charge of their learning?
Applying Papert's theory of Constructionism to increase engagement and authentically differentiate.

2016-2017
How does Self Directed Learning Affect Students Attitudes and Dispositions?

Presentations

2017-2018
How can I create an environment where students invest in their own learning?
Using feedback and conferencing to help develop individual learning paths.

2018-2019
How do the IBPYP enhancements support schools in moving from differentiated learning to personalized learning?

Some of the best professional development I have had is from the preparation required to lead workshops and create presentations.

In addition to presentations for my Action Research projects, I have also led workshops for the IB including "Encouraging Children's Creative Instincts", "The Exhibition" and "Leading the Learning in the PYP"

I have also presented in school and at a variety of conferences including Vietnam Tech Conference, EARCOS and  Learning 2.0.
