Below is a sample Writer's Workshop session in my classroom.
Below is a sample writing mini-lesson.
Having been trained in a variety of reading and writing approaches including Structured Word Inquiry, First Steps, The Daily 5, 6 Traits writing and Writing Workshop, I utilize my rich background knowledge to personalize my instruction. In this way, I am targeting each student's individual reading and writing needs. I adapt my reading and writing program to what my school is using in order to maintain consistency across the school and to continue to grow. I set up reading and writing routines that my students become familiar with. The following are some of the main components of my reading and writing routines at the moment.
